Electrical Noise & Interference Study

Diagnostic investigation of interference affecting control, instrumentation or communication systems — tracing the coupling mechanism from source to victim rather than treating the symptom where it appears. The coupling path is usually the cheapest of the three to fix.

What the work covers.

Diagnostic investigation of interference affecting control, instrumentation or communication systems — tracing the coupling mechanism from source to victim rather than treating the symptom where it appears. The coupling path is usually the cheapest of the three to fix.

Separate 'clean' and 'dirty' earth systems are a frequent cause rather than a cure. Where two earth systems are bonded at more than one point, the loop between them becomes an efficient pickup for exactly the interference the separation was meant to prevent.

We confirm the question the study must answer, agree the measurement or modelling points, and collect what the work depends on: detailed symptom description with timing and correlation to plant operation; cable routing and segregation drawings for the affected systems; earthing and bonding topology, including any separate.

Typically in one of these situations: field bus errors, analogue signal drift or spurious control trips; problems that appear only when specific plant runs; after a drive, welding plant or radio system has been installed nearby. If none of these apply, the study is unlikely to be the right next step and we will say so.

To scope and run the work we need detailed symptom description with timing and correlation to plant operation; cable routing and segregation drawings for the affected systems; earthing and bonding topology, including any separate 'clean earth' arrangement. Where any of it is missing we can establish it on site, which changes the scope rather than blocking the work.
