ESHI: the world's first Electrical Safety Health Index.

Most organisations know they have electrical risk. Few can measure it, benchmark it, or report it to a board. is the index that fixes that.

One score. Every facility. Every jurisdiction.

quantifies your electrical infrastructure risk in a single auditable score, 0–100, broken down by methodology depth, evidence freshness, and risk-register severity. It works across facilities, across standards, across jurisdictions — so the head of HSE, the CFO, and the lead engineer all read the same number.

is methodology-led, not vendor-led. Independent by design, it's embedded in every CareLabs engagement and refreshed on the cadence your compliance program demands.

The score band

Five tiers. Audit-grade.

0–20
Critical

Imminent risk. Active remediation required.

21–40
Poor

Material gaps. Compliance posture failing.

41–69
Fair

Mixed evidence. Audit-conditional.

70–90
Good

Strong posture. Standard-aligned.

91–100
Excellent

Industry-leading. Insurer-preferred.

Methodology

How the score is built.

weighs three pillars: the engineering depth of the underlying studies, the freshness of the supporting evidence, and the severity of open findings on the risk register. Each pillar is broken into sub-dimensions with explicit weightings so the score is reconstructable.

The methodology is published, auditable, and version-controlled. Every score traces back to a model state and a signing engineer.

Weight · 40%

Engineering depth

Coverage of arc flash, short circuit, load flow, protection coordination, and harmonics. Quality of the underlying coupled model.

Weight · 30%

Evidence freshness

Age of supporting studies, field tests, calibrations, and inspection data. Cadence of refresh.

Weight · 30%

Risk register severity

Open findings classified by criticality. Mitigation progress against the rolling backlog.

Who uses ESHI

Three audiences. One score.

For HSE & Safety Leaders

Manage compliance through our hybrid method — international standards (IEEE, IEC, NFPA, BS 7671) applied alongside country-specific local regulations, across every facility. Track risk the way you track LTIs and TRIRs and build the case for investment with data, not anecdotes.

For C-Suite & Risk Owners

One auditable score for the board pack. Trend across facilities and quarters. Lock the conversation around evidence, not opinion.

For Engineering Managers

Score by site. Drill into open findings. Justify the next study with a delta you can defend in the next budget cycle.

Notes & Queries

Common ESHI questions.

01

The methodology is CareLabs-developed but vendor-neutral. We've published the scoring rubric and welcome third-party validation — most independence-promise checks pass through it.

02

Baseline scores are produced at engagement start. Refresh cadence is set by your Compliance-as-a-Service program — typically monthly for the dashboard and quarterly for board-pack snapshots.

03

Yes. ESHI exposes a REST API and webhook endpoints for your CMMS, EAM, BI, or risk-management platform. The model state behind every score is reproducible.

04

A first-pass ESHI baseline is included with any CareLabs engagement at no additional charge. Ongoing scoring requires an active Compliance-as-a-Service retainer.
