Power Quality Analysis
CareLabs analyzes the power quality of Thai companies. Our goal is to protect your electrical installations, appliances, and devices from any problems caused by power supply fluctuations
Today many organizations and a growing number of individual consumers use data collection, monitoring, and instrumentation devices that are overly sensitive to changes in power supply. Few electrical devices are built to withstand the voltage swing spectrum which is a key feature of distributed electricity. CareLabs helps solve power quality issues related to equipment installation, control, protection, and power conditioning.
Power Quality Analysis Goal:
- Evaluation of deviations in electrical systems and loads.
- Workplace Assessment to Improve Simulation Techniques for Delivering Power Quality Solutions.
- Predict load device efficiency and performance
- Improve machine power factor and reliability.
- Avoid excessive energy consumption.
- To avoid malfunctions and malfunctions.
- Reduction of power quality anomalies such as harmonics, spikes, and transients.
- Helps avoid voltage/frequency spikes and PLC locks.
- To prevent transformer overheating, capacitor explosion and nuisance tripping.
- Significantly reduces operating costs. Extends the life of the
- network and its components.
- Inspect electrical equipment to ensure it can withstand changes.
Thailand Needed Power Quality Analysis:
All power grids face more frequent supply interruptions when power cables are destroyed by storms, natural disasters, or accidents. Power supply fluctuations are very typical. The power delivered by the grid has three characteristics: fluctuations, glitches, and distortion.
1. Frequencies beyond this range deviate from the normal frequency range.
2. Voltage interruptions occur when the voltage shape is maintained but the voltage amplitude exceeds the normal range.
2.1 Voltage dips (dips) and voltage spikes up to 1 minute in length are examples of short-term fluctuations.
2.2 Long-term voltage fluctuations consist of under voltages and over voltages lasting more than 1 minute.
2.3 Unbalanced Voltage – Occurs when the load is unevenly distributed over the phases and leads to significant heating of the device.
2.4 Voltage difference between neutral and ground
3. Disturbances caused by voltage distortion – if the voltage waveform is not regular or sinusoidal.
3.1 Device heating, higher losses, inefficient power use, and resonance issues are all caused by harmonics and inter-harmonics.
3.2 Transients of less than a tenth of a second can damage switch contacts, create system inefficiencies, and cause premature failure of motor drives and controls.
What Does a Power Quality Analysis Include?
Various methods should be used to identify various power quality problems, including:
- Harmonic analysis involves the use of computer algorithms to recognize and forecast prospective harmonic issues as well as reduction strategies.
- Analysis of Transients and Surges: This investigation will spot transients and surges.
- Analysis of Short-Term Voltage Dips and Swells: This analysis will follow the short-term voltage dips and swells, their magnitude and direction.
- Investigation of Reactive Power This study will provide the preferred reactive power at the distribution and load ends.
- Analysis of Captive Power: To satisfy demand while reducing energy surcharges and fuel usage, this research would quantify and synchronize captive power.
- According to the specified operating parameters, this research anticipates power flow magnitudes, power factors, voltage levels, and losses in system branches.
